Createasphere Digital Asset Management Conference in New York 2010

On September 23 and 24, 2010, Createasphere will hold a Digital Asset Management Conference and Exposition at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City.

I will be moderating a panel discussion with Dan McGraw on:

What Are The Phases Of DAM? From Implementation Of A DAM To The Evolution Of Your DAM – How Do You Plan?

  • How does an organization implement a DAM?
  • How do you begin to understand what those phases are, and then implement them?
  • What is often missed or forgotten?
  • Is the phased approach appropriate for your organization?

There are plenty of sessions among three tracks:

  • Track One for the Newcomer
  • Track Two for the Specialist
  • Track Three for Leadership and Management

You can register for the conference here

There are several discounts available for:

  • Early Bird Registration (before August 7, 2010)
  • Group Registration (of 4 or more people registering from the same company)
  • Guest Ticket (admission for guest/spouse/partner to the cocktail reception and lunch both days)
  • Student Registration (with current student ID card)

As a reader of this blog, you may also use one of these additional discounts for the conference:

  • DEDUC (for an extra 20% off registration)
  • DSTUDENT (for an extra 10% off the student rate)

Either of these codes can be used with the respective early bird specials.

If you want to book a room at the New Yorker Hotel with a special discounted rate during this conference, you can use “Createasphere room block”.

There will be more information coming soon as well as a DAM Tweetup in New York City.

I look forward to meeting you in New York City in September 2010.

What is a DAM Tweetup?

Before each DAM Conference (at least in Los Angeles and New York City), people schedule an informal gathering for some casual, pre-conference fun and conversation.

Please note, the DAM Tweetup is a non-hosted event with a cash bar. Tweetup is originally organized as ‘Twitter meetup’ in person. Here are the origins of the Tweetup.

I was fortunate enough to attend the first DAM Tweetup at the Tropicana Bar (outdoors) with some great people during the evening just before the DAM LA 2009 Conference.

This time, in New York City, you can tweetup in the lobby bar of the New York Hilton on Wednesday May 19, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

This evening will just before the DAM NY 2010 Conference.

Whether you are attending the conference or not, this is a great time to meet like-minded people in a casual setting.

Have you been to a DAM Tweetup?

See you there.

Digital Asset Management Los Angeles 2009 Conference

On November 9 and 10, 2009, I will be a guest presenter at DAM LA 2009. This is a two-day DAM conference held  in Los Angeles where I am scheduled to present on the following topics:

  • Dealing with Costs, Budgets and ROI
    • How do we budget for costs of implementing a DAM solution as well as the ongoing costs of operating a DAM? How can we measure return on investment in a consistent manner and justify the expenditure? We’ll explore real world cases and the pitfalls to avoid.
  • DAM and Change Management
    • As soon as we begin implementing a new DAM within an organization,we will need to deal with people, process and technology changes.
    • What about management issues? How do we evaluate employee competencies and their results?
    • What do employees need to do differently now than in the past? To whom do they report, when and how?
    • What skills are needed now more than ever?
  • DAM Career Planning, Qualifications and Hiring
    • Can people plan a DAM career? What does it take to be a DAM professional or Digital Asset Manager? We will explore resources available today to enrich our DAM knowledge and skills as well as explore the DAM job market.
